Didn't really come up with any local options even though it was searching for an easy product that several big name stores in my area should have. so it's lame.
I scanned an item that I had recently purchased and the app stated "...not available..".

Not for groceries. Only for items with online comparison. Waste of app
As of 2020 no longer works :(. Old: Most things I search for the "Price Previews" (an aggregated list showing prices from various websites) doesn't work. It just shows links to the websites so you can search yourself. I.e. you have to hit the Amazon button to see if it's on Amazon. So if 4 out of 5 of those websites don't have what you're searching for you waste a lot of time. It does work kind of, but I don't recommend. I notice no updates since 2018.
